FamicomForever (James)10OHOHHhh YESSSsSSSsss
Slammin9This one is real good, with some funky time signatures.
certainly not keffie7yes!!!
Jimmyoshi9.4I LOVE THIS
gotoandplay10stylistic plusses on all bases. Its not chocka with arps though, soI have my doubts as to whether it is who I think it is or not. Ohhh, hold on… scrap that
YobaHere9sweet!
Miss Maboroshi9This sounds so happy and nice! Great job!
EH27.3Funkay
dusthillguy8Very well made, a lot of hard work and skill has gone into this. Great sounds. Very skillfully done composition.
Deixis8Damn, that expansion chip is so overused. But how can I blame it when it is used so well.

FamicomForever (James)10good_song.ftm RIP FDS VIBRATO WTF
Razerek9yeah this is great
Slammin10Every chip had its own part to shine, and everything was perfectly mixed, sounding clear.
certainly not keffie5.2very well-tended to and skillful execution! bit poppy but that's fine heheh. good voice leading!
Jimmyoshi9.7I LOVE THIS
gotoandplay8rip dark credo. Song makes good use of multichip - its surprising how novel that statement is. I am laughing that the shape of your fds bass is a bottom.
Miss Maboroshi10Whoaaaaa!!! This is multichip at its finest. Listening to this song leaves me in dream-like amazement. I can't properly express in words how wonderful it is. If I had to pick a favorite original this year, I think this'd be it.
dusthillguy8.1Well made! Big penis! Nice work! I can sense that a lot of skill and hard work went into this. Excellent sounds! Wow, that note run at 02:46 is great! Fantastic triplet notes. Well done.
Deixis9another great multichip song.
funute10For 3 expansions, the channel balance is really nice! This is also pretty m9mcore, but it's not as distinct as the other m9mcore entry (could even not be m9m himself???). That part at 2:42 is either solidifying my guess or completely throwing it off :P

FamicomForever (James)10nice usage of channel space, at first i thought it had more than 1 extension. i really enjoyed this song, this deserves a 10.
Razerek9oh yeah i'm so loving this
Slammin8I like the beat, I like the volume control for the echoing and slides on the instruments.
certainly not keffie6.6ahh :3 the energy is great and fluid
Jimmyoshi9.5So good <3
gotoandplay10the slight detune work in and out of the lead, and the … I could go on! Features galore.
meanings10my favorite entry. crazy dynamics and a super good build up to the most satisfying chorus!!
mtobob9Two good ideas, and variations on those ideas.
Miss Maboroshi9Truly beautiful. Has one of those beats that makes you look forward to the next drum hit. Great work!
EH29.6I'll follow you, for sure.
dusthillguy9Nice! Very good atmosphere & mood. Excellent sound design. I'm giving this a high score in recognition of the excellent work, effort, and skill that are evident in this song. Wow, that part at 2:25! Penis! Big penis!
Shywolf6Interesting effect with the channel volumes.
funute10Sounds like FoD (DPCM samples? the way the voices are written?), but it sounds pretty different from his usual style. This really nails the pop/radio feel which is cool but maybe limits how complex/interesting this entry could've been. Still a great entry nonetheless.
4original no. 91: kulor — Flowers16.090/20See description for "The Recovery". This is the VRC6 track off Soundchip Salad, which means it uses the two squares and sawtooth channel off the VRC6 along with only the noise and DPCM channels of the 2A03.

FamicomForever (James)10intro is yesssssssssssss rest of song is yesssssss
Slammin8.5Cool song. I really like the beat of this one, makes you wanna dance.
certainly not keffie7.3nice!
Jimmyoshi9.5Very good use of DPCM! I love this <3 Wish the ending was more fulfilling tho
gotoandplay9wait. I already guessed this guy…. Im confused. I'm just going to guess them again :) Sounds similar to butterscotch drops of lime in places, but thatll be the drum style and the saw bass I guess. Other than that it sounds pretty tight!
meanings9cool intro cadence that immediately jams out. the melody doesn't get old! very cool piece. very cool bridge chords.
YobaHere10This one is my favorite track in originals. I hope you'll win compo! <3
Miss Maboroshi10I had to dance to this one. It's such a good jam! The sawtooth bassline really tears it up. Incredible work.
EH27.5Hot dang, yeah
dusthillguy8.4Well made. Great sounds, I love that C64 sounding lead. This is very chiptune sounding stuff. Excellent work from someone who knows what they're doing. I expect to see this in the top 20.

Slammin9 Interesting intro, with different beat patterns, and the permanently swinging bpm, making it a quite unique song.
certainly not keffie7.4lovely!!
gotoandplay10well well, lookeee here. Thank you for submitting more than 1 ;) The hi squealy alternating octave lead is my favourite expression here
meanings10very cute. duck song. luck song.
YobaHere9hello~
Miss Maboroshi8Dang, this is all over the place. I thoroughly enjoyed all the different parts, though!
EH210Nothing but class.
dusthillguy8Really cool sounds in this. It sounds really great. I like the percussion. The composition is detailed and well made as well.
6original no. 54: kulor — The Recovery15.416/20woooooo!
So basically, I started writing this song a longass time ago for my upcoming album, Soundchip Salad. Probably almost 3 years ago by my count? I thought for sure Soundchip Salad would be done by 2015, and in fact I was telling people it would definitely be done before 2015, but here we are at the end of 2015 and it's simply not going to happen. As my way to make it up to you guys, I'm spilling out the NES-related stuff I've done here. That doesn't mean the album isn't coming, it just means you get to hear some of it here first :D

Looking forward to doing more compos again and becoming more active in 2016!

Razerek9oof~ groovy ohhh damn
Slammin9Has a nice variety and good use of all channels in different ways. Loved the solos.
dougeff9Cool
certainly not keffie8.7wow! that solo is so nice
Jimmyoshi9.1<3
gotoandplay9I appreciate this because its trying to insert modern mixing techniques into a limited framework. It could almost pass off as not nsf.
meanings9smooth. yeah. lets go. | sick dpcm very rnb-esque club hit jam awesome cool yeah. nice. that melody doesn't get old!!!
YobaHere10Nice!
Miss Maboroshi8Majorly funky! Very sample-heavy, but it's evident that the other channels can't do much more to help than they're already doing. This is well-optimized!
EH27.6This isn't Kulor, but I'd swear it is.
dusthillguy8Some nice smooth jazz. This sounds really nice. Well done considering it's 2a03 only. Very well done.
funute10Neat DPCM usage - really squeezing out a ton from it (for example, I thought it was neat when you sampled the lead, using the DPCM as both an "extra voice" as well as sort of "filtering" the sound with whatever sample conversion happens). I also thought the use of that motif was kind of cute, although it started getting repetitive toward the end. The layering/complexity of the voices was also pretty neat.
7original no. 5: DJ Dimeback — Abrasive Demeanor15.281/20Almost a years worth of on and off work went into this. I thank FCP2015 for forcing me to shit out ideas to finish the second half of this song.

FamicomForever (James)9vrc7 is cheating :V (jk) pretty cool song, how people manage to make longer but still engaging songs like this is crazy to me (im n00b) around 2:20ish the vrc7 was overpowering and almost dissonant, but good otherwise
Razerek8wow that vrc7 o: it's a bit loud though, maybe it's just my player? btw the ending is awesome
Slammin9I'm not a fan of VRC7, but this one is amazing. Both chips are really well balanced and the changing moods and rhythms are nicely done From 2:11~2:28, VRC7 is a bit too loud, but we all know how hard is to control volumes with this chip.
certainly not keffie5.5dull/badly mixed in parts, but the end section is very nice
gotoandplay9really nice. Used the expansion well and I appreciate the chords
YobaHere8STG Arcade feeling, lovely feeling.
mtobob8I can dig it. The chords went a little off-the-rails after ~1:40.
kenshirotakahashi8Awesome
Miss Maboroshi9Really cool! Reminds me a lot of Thunder Force or something similar.
EH24.2Abrasive mixing.
dusthillguy8Nice song! There are some really cool sounds in this. It's a bit noisy though, but I know how hard it is to get the mixing right since the mixing levels differ so much between different players. Some of the leads/melodies remind me of Tim Follin. Anyway, this is a very complicated and progressive piece of music. A huge amount of work has gone into this. I'm giving this a high score in recognition of that.
Shywolf6I like this entry. Maybe a bit too long for its own good, though.
Deixis9Good use of custom patches and good mixing overall.
funute9Really nice FM instruments. Maybe a tad bit too loud.
8original no. 15: kulor — Ellis Island Disco15.185/20See description for "The Recovery". This is the VRC7 track off Soundchip Salad, which uses the 6 2op FM channels of the VRC7 along with only the noise and DPCM channels of the 2A03.

FamicomForever (James)9nice instrumentation.
Razerek9for some reason as soon as i played this Yoshi's Island popped into my head and i have no idea why, but nicely done!
Slammin9Most clear DCPM I've heard in a long time. Song makes justice to the title, indeed.
certainly not keffie7some of the chords/voice e leadings are a bit... questionable? great personality tho
gotoandplaygreat use of vrc7 the solos sound not tracked but jammed out which is credit to whoever programmed them.
meanings9so cute. very super mario world with a disco twist!
Miss Maboroshi10This is a totally amazing use of VRC7!! It's so catchy, too! I keep finding myself humming it. I'm thoroughly impressed.
EH25.5That clipping bass…
dusthillguy8.1Skilled use of the VRC7. It sounds very good. Very nice & detailed composition. Good work.
Deixis8Dancy! Also good jazz melody.
funute9Oh yeah, groovy. Doesn't feel like FC but still a neat track nonetheless.

FamicomForever (James)10the composition here is super cool
Slammin8.5Many things picked up my attention: the different paces in the song, The effects, the way the notes come and go.
certainly not keffie7.2aaaa~
gotoandplay10this song is pretty. Perhaps this is the most sedate of the entries of theirs so far. Maybe better off for it?
meanings9dreamy and emo. just how i like it.
Miss Maboroshi8I love the laid-back atmosphere this has. You handled the triangle channel especially brilliantly! I'm impressed with the range of expression you were able to achieve with it.
EH28.4If it weren't for the constant bends, I'd definitely say this is Zerov2.
dusthillguy8.2Cool sounds. Clever use of the NES sound capabilities. Interesting and highly detailed composition.
Shywolf6Flows really well.
10original no. 46: kulor — Warpdrive Engage15.086/20See description for "The Recovery". This is the N163 track off Soundchip Salad, which uses 6 N163 channels and no 2A03 channels. First time doing wavetable nonsense!

FamicomForever (James)10love the instrumentation really sounds like synth
Razerek8wow, impressive for just the n163 alone, and this reminds me very much of the c64.
Slammin10Simply impressive. N163 potential is fully demonstrated in this amazing track. Defintely one of my favorites.
certainly not keffie7.2i KNEW i recognised that middle section! saw this as a wip ages ago haha. glad to see it got integrated as a song
gotoandplay10no wastage here, nice instruments and nice song structure… haa and the c64 snare :) dub echo at end was special. Saw on stream you only used the namco, no other stuff. Impressive :)
YobaHere9hello
Miss Maboroshi10This is totally nuts! It sounds so incredibly full, and does some really unique things technically. (I've never seen anyone use the N163 for percussion before!) Stylistically it sounds kinda like a more soulful N64 Bomberman. Awesome, awesome stuff.
dusthillguy8.4Wow! Nice sounds! This sounds great! Cool composition too.
Shywolf7Hmm, an N163-only tune. Very smooooth, this.
Deixis8Cool single channel fifths on namco. A first for me.
funute10Really interesting waveforms and rhythm/percussion. Not really Famicom-y (it's actually all N163), but still a nice track.

Slammin7.5I'd normally like the change of pace, but I really liked how the first part was. Not that is bad, it's just a personal thing.
certainly not keffie7.8nice!!
gotoandplay9chop tastic. Never sure where this tune is supposed to take me? I do this a lot though :)
mtobob10This song is too good for me to provide meaningful feedback.
Miss Maboroshi8This has a nice groove to it!
dusthillguy7.5Good composition! Nice!
Shywolf6The first part is really good. I didn't like the second part as much.
12original no. 12: Cohones — Who Are We?14.730/20A lot of people haven't heard of us. Well, it looks like we have to step in and answer this question... "Who are we?" Play NSF back in NSFPlay 2.3 with default mixing settings for best results.

Razerek8honestly, sunsoft is my least favourite expansion and you managed to make it sound good!
Slammin10We got some intense arp work here, and it really catched my attention. To be honest, I've never payed too much attention to 5B, and this track is fantastic on using its potential.
certainly not keffie4bit boring stylistically~ but the technique is very good
gotoandplay9this is magical, I love this. I love the ay, on top ogf that , great instruments and inventive leads. Thx for the last bit, I thin ki know you now :)
meanings9nice changing between melody instruments!! very cool themes. the pitch bends are so pleasant.
mtobob6I can feel the EFFORT.
kenshirotakahashi7Sounds like Street Fighter 2.
Miss Maboroshi7REAL EYES REALIZE REAL LIES
EH29.9Who are you?
dusthillguy8.6Really nice sounds & sound design. Great work. Great composition too. This stands out to me.
Shywolf7Nice "thwack"-y 5B percussion.
funute10Wow, that 5B/AY is on point. Super catchy song overall too; I've already started listening to this one on repeat :) Song structure and instrumentation (tri usage, some of the arps) tells me ipi's probably behind this one.

certainly not keffiedis mine!!! no vote
gotoandplay10I am beginning to see why ap0c was saying there were so many kfcore songs in the originals sessions this year. But this is not core, this is the actual thing
meanings9.4crazy tune. i love arpeggios and the crazy melody.

Razerek8.5wow this is a great use of both chips!
Slammin7.5Good use of the N163. I don't have much more to say about it really. The most interesting part was the square/triangle/square transition leads.
certainly not keffie7.4aaaa! good to see someone using actual voice leading in this compo. a bit too light in the air, but its obviously well-composed haha
gotoandplay7nice interesting bits here and there. The triangle bass is awesome. Is anyone getting volume inconsistencies?
Miss Maboroshi8Cool! Sounds somewhat like a Hollywood film score.
EH28.5Daaaaaaaamn.

certainly not keffie5.2exuberant! bit harmonically stilted but goes in lots of nice places
Jimmyoshi9.4I love you
gotoandplay10Lots to like, lots of character and expression. The different time sig breakdown was dreamy.
meanings10reiteration of themes is cool i guess. whatever.
YobaHere8nice track
Miss Maboroshi9This song is so cute! I love all the little sections and how they transition into one another. Whoever you are, I believe in you too!
dusthillguy8.2Nice song. It's got a nice mood. It's got nice sounds too. Very detailed composition. I like the calm part at around 3 minutes.
16original no. 35: KungFuFurby — In Space o 1 an ear u (lost signal)13.828/20So here I am with another cartridge entry, and this time I used Nestopia to test my music to account for DPCM volume differences that made me realize my mistake the first go round. This is my result.

Razerek8lol the beginning the rest of the song is pretty cool
Slammin10I like this song. A lot. There are other instruments from other chips in DPCM, and the atmosphere it's really fitting to the title. It has variety, style and creativity.
certainly not keffie4.2again, wish there was more 'glue' to this song. i guess i struggle w/ that myself hah
gotoandplay6I felt that after the initial shock the first bit had passed, I knew how the rest of it was goingto pan out, just like their earlier entry.
kenshirotakahashi7Great Job!
Miss Maboroshi6The soundscape this generates is very unsettling.
EH25.7If a tree falls in space, can anyone hear it?
Shywolf8Deceptively small filesize given the content. That aside, I really like this track.
Deixis7The longest entry in originals, and it delivers pretty well.

mtobob5In the end, a bad trip. But I appreciate what you were going for.

Slammin8.5Nice balance for every channel on this multichip track. I liked the detuning of the whole chord.
certainly not keffie5a gem!
gotoandplay10Let's see what we have here……….. The gallop on the vrc7 chords is sooooooooooooooooo cool, and it helps that the chord progressions are also sweet. Great overall style choice as well.
Miss Maboroshi9Good job balancing all of the different chips! The instrumentation is really nice too. This has a perfect vaguely unsettling, yet intriguing vibe.
dusthillguy9.1Finally, something that uses a lot of extensions and actually seems to be doing interesting stuff with them. The VRC6 and VRC7 are being used to great effect. It's a shame the FDS doesn't get used as much, but when it is used, it's used well. Very cool sounds in this. This is an interesting piece of music as well. I appreciate the atmosphere and mood this song creates. Very well done.

certainly not keffie6.6so much energy! lots of sections too.
gotoandplay8You know your way round a tracker - but it is pretty intense and not the easiest of listens volume wise. Thankfully you do address this more in the second half of the song
Miss Maboroshi7I hear what seems like a ton of different musical influences here. Really diverse and interesting!
EH23.8If we all went within the sun, wouldn't we burn into plasma and stop existing?
dusthillguy7This is kind of noisy. The arppegio early in the song sounds kind of dissonant, I guess that's intentional. Seems like a lot of work has gone into this anyway. It's unique.
funute6Hm, this has potential, but it could use some better volume balancing, and everything's a bit too wild and loud.

FamicomForever (James)10enjoyed this thoroughly. like, really. i exported a wav and added to my chip collection, ill be sure to label it correctly once i figure out who made this! also nice dpcm (lmao)
NicolasMaeder9Many of the entries in Famicompo Pico 2015 were too cliche for me to handle, so this track deserves a near-perfect rating for what it is: A technical electronic effort.
Razerek7lol at first i thought this was a dpcm-only song.... i dont like the beginning as much as the rest of the song, mainly because of that muddy low note, but other than that the rest of the song is good
Slammin10Sometimes, the constant use of DPCM is overwhelming, and in some parts you can't clearly hear the other instruments but it gives a good atmosphere, and it's really interesting on how it's used. Even after saying that, I must say I really love this track.

EH25.1yet another comment for the synth-like song
Shywolf6"Oh, yeah!"... ...*crash*
Deixis7The begining reminds me a lot of "Null and Void" from 2A03 puritans. More trippy this time.

Miss Maboroshi8Great use of the N163! I love the variety of instruments you achieved. In particular, the instrument you made by rapidly varying the pulse width of the waveform is a cool trick, I should figure out how to do that sometime.
EH24.6Another victim of bad mixing.

The biggest problem with this is that the orchestra hit melodies are a bit out of tune. I tried to fix that as much as I could, but it's still not perfect.

dusthillguy8.7Hey, this is a really nice piece of music. And the sounds are nice too, they're simple in a good way. That echo effect is simple, but it really works in the context of this song. Yeah, I really like this composition. It's very natural in a good way. Yes, excellent composition.

dusthillguy7.1Whoah man, this is smooth, for real. I can appreciate this. It's nice and relaxed music. It's kind of like anime music at times. At least the main chorus/theme/whatever of the song is. Nice chord progression. Wow, this is pretty long. I recognise that a lot of work has gone into this.

Miss Maboroshi7Really pretty! I loved the atmospheric stuff, and the percussion was neat. The wind effects were especially interesting, never heard that in an NES tune before.
dusthillguy7Nice relaxing song, a bit nostalgic/emotional sounding. I like it. The sound effects are cool, especially the thunder (it sounds like thunder to me, but now that I think about it maybe it's just meant to be the sound of wind). Slammin7Another multichip. I like how VRC7 was used as a bass. It's a bit repetitive, but, in this song I don't mind that. It's not so well balanced on the volumes. I liked more the 2nd half of the song.
certainly not keffie5praise bass
Jimmyoshi6.5Song is too short. Bass needs more power. Also this isn't nearly repetitive enough.
gotoandplay8I suspect I like it more for it's hypnotic qualities thanfor it's musical significance. Though, I do like the "buzzer" fx - is this song clocked different to achieve this?
NicolasMaeder10At first I thought "another synth-like song" was a technical effort, and then I realized that this song, named "Unculture Beats", is quite better than that other one. That's because when I heard "Unculture", I thought that I didn't like "synth-like" anymore because of the ugly recorded voice samples and cheesy guitars. I like this entry for being more technical and detailed than "synth-like". Nothing about this underrated effort is ever bad, it's so good for its length, hard sounds, and atonality. It has a very interesting heavy techno quality that you can't hear in most FTMs. I wonder why so few people paid so little attention to this. It could be perhaps the controlled noises in this .nsf are not common in NES/Famicom chiptune. But actually, truth says this song's low popularity extended to no one at all, and never beyond those who heard it and liked it. I was impressed by how massive this is, and I hope more songs like this will be created in the future. Perfect song.

dusthillguy4.5The VRC7 bass is really loud in this, so I made the VRC7 quieter using the mixer controls in virtuansf. For what this is, it's pretty well made. I guess it's a kind of techno/trance kind of thing.

Slammin6Ok, my mind it's a bit divided on this one. One half thinks it's really cool, because it was an impressive synth. But on the other hand, it's not that catchy or attention grabbing song. Sounds more like... a short cutscene song.
certainly not keffie0.8there's... nothing in this track? did u enter this just to show off yr phaser. bit disappointing -v-;
gotoandplay4nice experiment. Clocks or something else?
Miss Maboroshi2Interesting phase effects, but there's really nothing else here.
dusthillguy5woahhhhh, nice sounds! But unfortunately, though it has some interesting sound design, it seems like not much happens in this song. (I don't mean to offend you by saying that, it's just my honest observation.)
funute3I assume there's some overclock going on? Not a very interesting entry otherwise though.

Slammin5The song being soooo short makes the main melody sound really repetitive.
certainly not keffie1.1thank's
gotoandplay4A bit too short, but you know that :)
Miss Maboroshi1This is really loud. For subsequent compositions, you may want to look at how other composers balance their volume.
dusthillguy3It's short and quite simple. It might work if it were part of a homebrew NES game or, but as a piece of music in its own right, it doesn't really stand up. I don't mean to be rude to you by saying this.

Razerek1are you fucking kidding me
Slammin3This thing is SOOOO similar to Exed Exes normal BGM. But at least, Exed Exes port had a pattern. As a SFX, it would be good.

EH20Fuck you too.
dusthillguy5.1As soon as I heard this, I knew it was a CRAZYBUS tribute. You really accurately captured the style and the feel of the CRAZYBUS, and I can appreciate that.
Deixis0Here's the joke song. They're getting more rare these days. However I honestly won't regret the day they go extinct. Congrats to whoever submitted this to make it the last submited entry. I hope for you it will also be the last in the ratings.
funute0No covers :V
